Greetings loyal readers! Welcome back to the dental health blog of Lapalco Family Dental in Marrero, LA. In today’s post we want to tell you about an exciting service we offer at our office. We are now offering the ClearCorrect system of short-term adult braces.

Have you ever been told your candidate for adult braces? Or is there just something about your smile that makes you unhappy? ClearCorrect could be just want you need to get the smile you want, and the smile you deserve.

In today’s post, we’re going to give you a few things to mull over if you’ve considered adult braces. Here are four things that separate ClearCorrect for other kinds of short-term braces.

#1. ClearCorrect Works, Fast!

ClearCorrect is one of the newest forms of short-term adult orthodontics. They can be extremely effective for adults or older teenagers who would like to correct the appearance of their teeth. ClearCorrect can correct crowded teeth, gaps in teeth, and other problems with your smile.

At the beginning of your ClearCorrect treatment, we will make a #D model of your teeth and create a complete treatment plan. This allows you to know what your teeth will look like before you even begin treatment!

Using a set of transparent aligners, ClearCorrect quickly and painlessly moves your teeth into your desired location. You wear each ClearCorrect aligner for four to six weeks then graduate to the next aligner. You can see amazing results in just a few months!

#2. Keep Your Smile a Secret

Many adults and teenagers avoid getting braces because they don’t like how they look. Traditional braces fill your mouth with metal, which can make you look silly when you smile or speak. Adults worry about looking immature and inexperienced at work when they wear braces; teenagers worry about getting picked on our teased at school for wearing braces.

ClearCorrect aligners are transparent, and virtually invisible when you put them in your mouth. This means you can stroll around your school or workplace without anyone seeing you with a mouth full of metal. If you have an important presentation coming up, or important event, you can even take-out your aligners ahead of time.

#3. You Can Eat What You Want

ClearCorrect allows you to continue eating and drinking whatever you’d like during your orthodontic treatment. Because the aligners are safe and easy to remove, you simply take them out before a meal or a snack.

This not the case with traditional adult braces. Traditional braces use brackets, metal wires, and rubber bands. Food can easily become tangled within this metal maze. Trapped food is not only uncomfortable, it’s also unhygienic and can actually lead to tooth decay.

How bad is the problem really? Consider a grocery cart full of crusty bread, macaroni and cheese, steak, and perhaps some candy for dessert. With traditional braces, all of these things would be difficult to eat.

Crusty bread can loosen the wires of traditional braces, which can be painful and makes the braces less effective. Macaroni and cheese can get caught in the brackets, and remain there for a very long time. Chewing a well-done steak could even knock the brackets off your teeth.

#4. ClearCorrect vs. Invisalign

You may have heard of the Invisalign system of short-term adult orthodontics. Much like ClearCorrect, Invisalign uses a system of transparent aligners to correct issues with teeth spacing and appearance.

We believe the ClearCorrect system to be superior. ClearCorrect aligners are thinner, making them more comfortable to wear in your mouth. In addition, ClearCorrect is made of a more transparent material than Invisalign, which makes them even more invisible when you wear them. ClearCorrect is also more affordable than Invisalign.
